Honeywell Avionics Are Supported Round The World

By Elena McDowell

There are many international firms who concern themselves with the world of aviation. Some prefer to limit themselves to the propulsion systems, others take a broader outlook. Some have developed various systems which are included on the major commercial aircraft. This is certainly one area in which you can expect to find Honeywell avionics.

As with all things every so often something will malfunction, and the ideal people to sort it out are those who designed and built the system. With this company you will find that they have established centers of excellence around the world. So when you need help it is never too far away.

The company test and maintenance facilities are all licensed and have met with the guidelines laid down by the various aviation governing bodies. Their workforce are all highly skilled and take pride in their work. They will often go that little bit further to ensure that the customer is completely satisfied.

As a lot of these systems are based on electronics the test facilities have to adhere to certain guidelines. The actual test areas are only accessed by authorized people. With limited disturbances the environment within the test cell stays as stable as possible.

Both the temperature and humidity readings are closely controlled. Ideally the complete testing should be conducted at the same environmental conditions throughout the course of the day. If there were constant traffic, along with the associated opening and closing of doors, the temperature would have peaks and troughs. Such things can have an adverse effect on system calibration.

The technicians within these test cells are all highly trained, and they take their jobs very seriously. They each have to undergo various performance checks annually, as well as keeping abreast of any modifications which need to be implemented. The environments are dust free, and any possible contaminants are strictly controlled.

The technicians will use a variety of measures to ensure that static electricity does not affect these units. Any visitor to these facilities will see the technicians using wrist straps and heel grounders. These will ensure that the technician and the item under test will have the same earth potential.

The laid down test schedules are all followed and recorded. It will come as no surprise but these people know what the system should be doing at any particular point. As the designers they often use much tighter tolerance limits. The benefit to the customer is that once the equipment has passed inspection it will be in service for a lot longer than one serviced by a different company.

The company strives to provide a fast turn around service. It is not surprising why so many internationally known airlines choose to renew equipment servicing contracts year after year. This is a company which prides itself on actually listening to what the customer wants. So no matter which continent you find yourself on it really does make sound business sense to have your Honeywell avionics looked after by the experts. Who better than the manufacturer and developer to look after your problem in such a professional manner.
